Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 five Finger Discount. In 2014, she released additional music on the internet including Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work together with Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had contracted by Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video then released in September. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed with Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on 16 November. It was then released as a single on its own in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
